The First Time
A mountain bike trip to Moab is like the cyclist’s rite of passage. Every rider remembers their First Time to this red rock, slick rock riding mecca. This trip is our 10th, 11th, I forget, but the wonder and mystique never grows old for me. Along for the trip are our friends, Clogger, Speedy, and Regularjoe. Regularjoe is the first timer in our group.
For Joe’s first ride, we took him to the Sovereign Trail. Even though it does not have much climbing or trek through mind boggling landscape like LPS/UPS, the fun and thrill of zippy through the trail is enough to make any guy giggle like a school girl. There was much giddiness to be found after Joe’s introduction to Moab! I laughed when I saw him stop every 2 seconds for a photo (he is, afterall, a professional photographer), because this trail does not even come close to the beauty of the trails we have in store for him all week. I love having a real photographer along. He has taken some fantastic shots (as usual) and it takes the pressure off me. Thanks, Joe!
We’re having a GREAT time, and I don’t have much time to blog, but I wanted to put something up for Peanut to see. I threw together this slideshow for Peanut, so that’s why it is a little heavy on the Clogger pics. It’s hard to keep up with pics, forums, Facebook, and emails, but I shall try to check in every so often to keep you updated! Hope you’re having as much fun as we are! Gotta run, we’re off to catch the shuttle for Kokopelli/UPS:-)
